Resumen original / Abstract

In the two decades before the onset of the crisis, many countries began to implement initiatives involving the participation of actors other than the public sector in the management of social policies. In recent years, the difficult economic situation has revived the debate on different welfare-mix formulas, their scope and especially on citizens. In the case of Spain, through the examination of three key social policies, we observe how the welfare-mix has been reformed in many ways during the crisis, responding to various drivers, including the perception by public officials that the crisis was bringing about a certain kind of privatization of social risk.
